Companion animals enrich our lives in so many ways, and it’s our mission at East Bay SPCA to create a more compassionate world for them.
The story of Leia the terrier is one of resilience (much like her Star Wars namesake Princess Leia). When she first came to us, she had a mange infection — a common yet highly contagious skin disease — which our shelter veterinarian quickly treated. But the team knew that it would take a bit of extra care to coax shy and nervous Leia out of her shell.
