The East Bay SPCA
has been saving lives
since 1874.
But the East Bay SPCA is
more than a shelter.
Explore some of the services we offer:
Behavior and Training
A large part of our mission at the East Bay SPCA is keeping people and pets together. Pets at home mean fewer on the street and fewer in shelters. However, animal behavior issues can be frustrating and challenging for many pet owners. Our Behavior and Training programs help train pets and help people gain a deeper understanding of pet behavior to ensure they live together comfortably. In addition to helping pets and owners in the community, our nationally-recognized behavior modification programs help our shelter dogs overcome behavior issues so they can be adopted and transition into new, loving homes.
Vet Clinic / Spay Neuter
The Theodore B. Travers Family Veterinary Clinic provides comprehensive, expert care to animals in our shelters as well as to the public and is one of only 12% of veterinary clinics in the US and Canada to achieve accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Having our own clinic allows us to provide affordable care options to the public including necessary vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries. As one of the first animal welfare organizations to require all animals to be spayed or neutered before adoption, we help prevent future unplanned litters of puppies and kittens from ending up in local shelters.
Humane Education
The East Bay SPCA offers a variety of Humane Education programs that educate young people about animals and promote appreciation and compassion for all living things. Our programs include animal camps, birthday parties, youth volunteer club, school presentations and more.
Adoptions
Adoptions are at the core of what we do. It’s our mission to save animals and place them in happy, safe, and loving homes. Looking for a new furry best friend?
