Give Senior Pets the Special Care They Need

Puppies and kittens are popular adoption choices at the East Bay SPCA, but we also care for numerous older animals who still have so much love to give to a new forever family.

Senior pets like 7-year-old dog Deedee often have lengthy shelter stays and need specialized medical care. The average shelter stay for older pets is twice as long as it is for younger animals, and that level of commitment and care requires time, staffing and resources.

Deedee had been with us for two months, much of that time in the care of one of our dedicated foster volunteers while she received medical care and behavior and training support. Happily, Deedee was adopted and is enjoying her best life with adopter Jane and Doberman stepbrother, Spike.

Your gift provides funding for needed services like spaying and neutering, special medical
treatments and medications, foster care and dog and cat training classes and workshops. Most
importantly, your donation will help more animals like Deedee find happy new lives with loving forever families.
