Presentations and Assemblies
The East Bay SPCA will come to you! If you have a group that you think would enjoy learning about animals, we would be more than happy to come out and talk to them.
What is the presentation about?
Our standard presentation includes information about the East Bay SPCA’s history and mission, bite prevention, dog body language, companion animal needs, and how children can help the animals in their community. If there is something specific you would like us to cover, please let us know and we would be happy to do so.
Do you bring animals to the presentation?
Of course! We tend to bring a cat and/or a dog. It is important for you to check with your group in regards to allergies before we come, but we like to bring an animal or two for the kids to meet at the end of the presentation.
Is there a fee for the program?
We do request a $50 donation per presentation that we facilitate. In addition many groups or classes like to incorporate a service learning project and do an in-kind donation drive where they collect food or other items for the animals in our care. You can visit our wish list page for the items we are currently in need of. Please remember that the East Bay SPCA is a non-profit organization funded by donations from those in our community. All program fees and donations allow us to continue educating the community about companion animals.
Who will the East Bay SPCA visit?
Our education department will visit any group that is interested. We do ask that there be a minimum of 10 people attending, no maximum! Most often we visit school classrooms and after-school programs, but are open to presenting to anyone who is interested in learning about animals. Our assemblies are perfect for educating an entire grade level at once.
What age students are the presentations geared for?
Any age! Our presentations can be tailored for students in preschool through high school.
When are presentations offered?
We offer presentations Monday through Friday during the school day. Afternoon and afterschool presentations can only be scheduled on Fridays at this time. During the summer months, we offer a limited number of programs on Tuesday or Thursday mornings as our staff facilitates a summer camp each day.
How do I book a presentation?
Please fill out a program request form. It is best for you to list a few dates, so that we may check our calendar for availability. Once the education department receives your request, we will respond with a confirmation within three business days.
Please email us.
