ABOUT US

Q.  We've recently had a litter of kittens. They are now about 7 1/2 weeks old. One of the kittens, doesn't seem to act like the others. It doesn't appear to be gaining any weight at all!

A.  It sounds like you have a runt in the litter that is being “ousted” by the other kittens. Around weaning time they will often keep the runt from being able to eat and join in their activities. It is important to separate the little one out two or three times a day and make sure that he has extra canned food and some extra attention. This should help him put on weight, although he may never be as big as the other kittens.
